Department of Social Services; It is a government institution affiliated with the government of the Emirate of Sharjah. It was established on August 1, 1984 AD, but the date of its actual appearance dates back to November 22, 1995 AD, after the issuance of the Emiri Decree by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation - Ruler of the Emirate. Sharjah - May God protect and preserve it, and according to it, it became part of the service institutions of the Sharjah government, and an essential support for its efforts in the societal and humanitarian field. The department specializes in establishing social care homes, providing home care services, protecting the weak, providing social support and rehabilitation for needy groups, and preparing and implementing social studies and research. The department also undertakes multiple societal responsibilities towards all segments of Sharjah society, including children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities, in addition to Providing quality services for those in special circumstances that require social protection, such as abused mothers, children of inmates in penal and correctional institutions, the psychologically and mentally ill, those in emergency crises, and other segments of society, including its citizens and residents, all of whom are covered by the umbrella of social services.
