Dubai is one of the fastest developing cities in the world, which makes the achievement of high quality infrastructure facilities an absolute imperative. Given that the provision of an advanced transportation network for the residents of Dubai occupies a prominent place in the government's agenda to improve public transport facilities and develop roads throughout the emirate to make transportation safer and smoother, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) was established by virtue of Law No. 17 of 2005 to achieve the vision of the Emirate of Dubai. By planning and implementing transportation, roads and traffic requirements in the emirate, and between it and the emirates of the country and neighboring countries, with the aim of providing an effective and integrated transportation system that serves the vital interests of the emirate.
