RST FZ-LLC was founded by Sultan Thomas in 2001 to deepen his roots in the U.A.E following years of success in the region. With decades of experience and achievements in Lebanon, he expanded to tackle the Gulf. The idea for a career in this industry came as a shock to the Lebanese community in the late 1980’s. Sultan had just gotten back from studying in Europe, earning a degree in the medical field. Being in your 20’s in that region meant you could catch artists like Madonna and Sting perform in France and Belgium, and this inspired him. The lighting industry was almost non-existent in the Middle East compared to the West, and he seized that opportunity. While he faced many obstacles, he forged strong bonds with the best international suppliers, and fought through to become the biggest in the region.
