Doing one kind also can improve your ability to do the others, and variety helps reduce boredom and the risk of injury. 21s (sometimes called sevens) involves breaking up one exercise into three distinct ranges of motion for a single 21-repetition set. You would complete a set of 21s as follows: Perform seven repetitions in the bottom part of the range of motion. Perform seven repetitions in the top part of the range of motion.
