Our history goes back to the invention of steel and we continue to drive stainless steel innovation. Our latest innovation is Circle Green®, a product line with a carbon footprint taken to extreme lows – down to 8% of the global average. If all stainless steel was made like Circle Green®, it would cut the global carbon footprint by 250 million tons – every year. Our mills are significant recycling facilities. Every year, our mills in process more than 2 million tonnes of scrap, or recycled steel and turn it into more than 2 million tonnes of sustainable, long-lasting material. It does not need maintenance, and at the end of its long lifecycle, it is fully recyclable. And it is not only what we do, but how we do it: Outokumpu aims to minimize the environmental impacts of its production.
