About Nazwa RO plant SEWA

The Sharjah RO Plant is a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It is owned and operated by Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA). The plant was commissioned in 2022 and has a treatment capacity of 350,000 cubic meters per day. The plant uses RO technology to remove impurities from seawater. The seawater is first passed through a series of filters to remove large particles. It is then pumped to high-pressure pumps, which force it through semi-permeable membranes. The membranes allow water molecules to pass through, but they block the passage of impurities. The treated water is then collected and stored in reservoirs. The Sharjah RO Plant is a major source of drinking water for Sharjah. It also provides water for industrial and agricultural use. The plant is helping to meet the growing demand for water in Sharjah and is contributing to the sustainable development of the emirate.
