Tucked away in a very officey-looking building in Business Bay, you’d be surprised that such an opulent restaurant could be found inside. But here Long Teng stands, outshining its digs by serving up such authentic dishes you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in China. For Chinese seafood, straight out of the tank, there’s nowhere better in town. The space is chic, light, and airy and spread out over multiple floors with an aquarium at the entrance and a seafood display from where you can pick your preferred catch. The roomy venue also boasts a sprawling terrace with views across Business Bay and beyond, a dedicated kitchen for duck, a cute pomelo tree and a lounge area for you to enjoy at your leisure with a pot of traditional Chinese tea. If you’re not familiar with certain dishes, the friendly staff are more than happy to help. But if you need any early pointers, we recommend getting started with an assortment of Long Teng’s exceptional dim sum. Among our favourites are the riotously moreish shrimp cheung fun, crammed with plump crustacean, encased in crispy-fried shell, all rolled within pink rice paper noodles. The extensive à la carte menu features a mix of refined staples and favoured classics with dishes ranging from soups to noodles and of course, fresh seafood including lobster, crab and king prawns. For the quality of food and generous portion sizes, prices are reasonable, and service is impeccable. If you’re looking for excellent Chinese cuisine, Long Teng is a must-visit – and the dim sum alone will keep you coming back for more.
