Kalaripayattu is an ancient Indian Martial art with more than 3000 years of history also nicknamed the "Mother of Martial Arts. Kalari Club Dubai is the first authentic Kalarippayattu institution in the United Arab Emirates recognized by the Ministry of Youth & Sports and the UAE Karate Federation. Dr.Rahis Gurukkal has been instrumental in introducing the Kalarippayattu culture to the UAE soil from opening the doors to the first authentic Kalari in 2020. He is a certified trainer of Kalarippayattu from Velayattu Kalari affiliated with the Kerala Kalarippayattu Association and Indian Kalarippayattu Federation under the humble discipleship of Acharya Shree K.G. Padmanabhan Gurukkal.
