GIFT City is a planned business district in Gujarat, India, and is promoted as a Greenfield project. It is India’s first, only planned International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). It is designed to be at or above par with globally benchmarked business districts such as Singapore, Dubai (DIFC), etc. The government of India operationalized International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT Multi Services SEZ in April 2015. IFSCA is the unified regulator for financial products, financial services, and financial institutions in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). ICICI Bank opened its IFSC Banking Unit (IBU) in GIFT City in Feb 2016
