Work on the new Emaar South Golf Course in Dubai commenced at the end of 2018. This new 18 hole golf development will be the second UAE Course designed for Emaar by European Golf Design, the first being Dubai Hills Golf Club, which opened in November 2018. The design brief was to design an 18 hole championship golf course and golf academy as part of a new residential community which is being created within the Emirates' Dubai South development and includes the Al-Maktoum international airport that is set to become the world's largest airport The golf course will be laid out in two loops of nine that will work their way through the residential development. The intention is to create a natural desert-styled golf course with large rolling greens. The golf course will form an integral part of the Emaar South residential community that is being built close to the new Al Maktoum International Airport and will provide both recreational and social benefits for residents, members, and visitors
