The airport was reported to be the busiest airport for Airbus A380, and Boeing 777 movements. Dubai International airport was built to comprise a total capacity reaching 90 million passengers every year. By 2016, the airport served more than 270 destinations across the world, with 7,700 weekly flights through 140 airlines. Dubai International Airport's contribution to the economy of the UAE made it a keystone in the country's economy through 90,000 people, indirectly supports over 400,000 jobs to be 21% of the employment in Dubai, and contributes over US$26.7 billion figured around 27% of the economy.
