About DISTP Project

The DISTP Project, or Deira Island Sewage Treatment Plant, is a wastewater treatment plant located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The plant was completed in 2017 and is capable of treating 36,000 cubic meters of sewage per day. The DISTP Project uses a membrane bioreactor (MBR) system, which is a highly efficient and effective method of wastewater treatment. The treated water from the DISTP Project is used to irrigate the Deira Islands, a man-made cluster of islands that is being developed as a new tourist destination. The DISTP Project is a major milestone in Dubai's efforts to improve its water quality and sustainability. The plant will help to reduce the amount of untreated sewage that is discharged into the environment, and it will also provide a valuable source of irrigation water for the Deira Islands.
