In 1974 Ahmed Essa Al Ustad Al Ali founded his business in the new Al Jaddaf Drydocks area, as a woodworking company maintaining and working on the wooden Dhow boats that carried goods into and out of Dubai. Later the company started to manufacture its own boats alongside its maintenance business. In 1996 Ahmed Essa Al Ustad sadly passed away and in 2001 his son Mohammed Al Ustad Al Ali took over the running of the company, which by this time had become highly specialised in fabricating all types of Stainless Steel fittings for the marine industry, as well as fabricating aluminium doors, windows and other items alongside the stainless steel hardware. As a company, Al Ustad today is a growing thriving business with a highly talented workforce and management, the company's core business is still supplemented by maintenance work on all kinds of boats, as it was back when the business was founded more than 4 decades ago.
